Who's who?

Our current minister, who joined us in November 2007, is married to Anne, a practice manager in the NHS. They have two grown up children.
Dai, our minister came to faith in 1971 at Rhiwbina Baptist Church, and trained at Cliff College, Moorlands College and Spurgeon's College.
Dai met his wife at Moorlands College, and after they were married they worked in a residential special school. 
Following God's call they served with the Baptist Missionary Society in the Democratic republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), where their primary responsibility was to run the hostel for missionary children.
On returning to the UK, Dai was called to be the minister at Hampton Wick Baptist Church, where he served for four years, and then moved to Newhaven, where he served as minister for nearly sixteen years, before coming to Westbury Leigh in 2007.
Dai enjoys watching the six nations rugby, Formula 1 racing, travelling and caravanning. Anne loves playing the cello, shopping, and also caravanning.

Elsa has been our Church Secretary since April 2008.
She is a semi-retired nurse, working part-time in Salisbury District Hospital Burns Unit, and is widowed, with two married daughters and two grandchildren.
Her elder daughter and husband work in Benin and Togo (West Africa) with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and her younger daughter is a physiotherapist living with their family on the Wirral.
Elsa's interests include conservation and natural history.

Reg moved to Wiltshire from Middlesex in 1993 as a result of early retirement due to ill health.
He is married to Daphne, and they have one son, Albert, who is married and lives in Bexhill-on-Sea.
Apart from church life, Reg is interested in all sport, particularly rugby, as well as reading and care of the elderly.
Reg is currently the Treasurer and Pastoral Care Co-ordinator.


 

 

 

 

 

JOY BOWN

Joy is following in the steps of her mother and grandmother as a deacon, and is married with 2 grown-up children.
She has a background in administration, having taken early retirement from the Civil Service.
Joy plays the piano at some of the Sunday morning services.
She enjoys walking and watching sport, particularly football and cricket, both live and on television.
